LET ME GO RIDE DAMN IT
I just want to watch day 2 of the Olympic dressage.. is that so much to ask D;
Someone help?
So Im watching the olympic dressage from this morning online……
and the second rider comes out in a double bridle? In eventing dressage, isn’t that illegal? The second rider is from Australia, but Im blanking on his name at the moment.
Anyone who can help explain is appreciated :D

So thanks to all the awesome eventers I follow, you’re very informative :)
Love you guys
My friend Sarah’s mount at the event last weekend. She only started doing dressage with her 4 weeks ago and she looks like an old pro here :) not to mention gorgeous.
This mare is Goldie! She’s a quarter horse.
A friend’s little Thoroughbred mare, Desiree at her first event last weekend.
her dressage was kind of flawless judging from the photo ;)
This is Lissy, a little mare I rode for my old boss/ dressage coach a couple times when I worked for her. Her first full event was last weekend as well :)
Shes an Appendix- TB X QH
This is Jack! I rode him all last summer for my dressage coach when I worked for her. Seeing him at a full on event last weekend actually made me super happy!
he’s a percheron X :)
Marty and I at our second event together, Glen Oro HT in June 2008
we almost went double clear, if that stupid jump judge hadn’t have been in the treeline at the top of the hill -_-
My first event ever (2008) at Checkmate HT with Marty, a Clyd X Standardbred gelding :)
my leg is awful but meh dont care :)
Sally and I in a XC lesson, back in 2009.
Shes a Clyd x Thoroughbred mare, approx 16.3 hands :)
I evented one season with her.
Just because I read some shit about some girl saying how bad eventing is and how the horses shouldn’t be put through that. That actually bothered me A LOT….
This particular was obviously a narrow minded h/j.. no offense to anyone who’s a h/j. I respect jumpers, its way fun.
But dont go around shooting your mouth off about something you dont know about or havent tried, saying its cruel and that the horses shouldnt be put through it.
honestly this girl is going off about how awful EVENTING is.
When first I checked, there are 3 phases in that particular sport….
first, we memorize a dressage test, and we’re only allowed to use snaffle bits…. aka the most simple kind of bit to use. how kind of us.
second, is Cross Country.. which I believe is what this person was referring to that she hated. and yeah okay it gets a bad rep because the photos that you see of the falls are pretty scary looking, and yes watching videos of the falls are scary too. Buuuut lets get it out there, that its also the biggest adrenaline rush ever…. and SO FUN.
Okay, I live in Ontario, Canada and every fall in Toronto we have the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. The past 2 years I’ve gone to watch the Indoor Eventing, which is a combination of cross country fences and stadium fences. They’re probably no higher than Prelim height (3’6- 3’9 approx) and there’s always the clans of hunter people that go and all they do is complain about how dangerous it is. And thats with the new jump technology with the frangible material. Maybe if you werent so narrow minded and cared about more then just your eq, you’d actually try something fun and change your mind about it.
But I digress.
The last phase is the stadium, which Im fairly certain is basically just a jumper round……… Theres approx. 12-15 jumps and while it is timed, it still looks classy. Some actual jumpers have scarier rounds at their shows then our stadium rounds.
And what does this individual post later? Stop with the comments about eventing, i dont want to talk about it anymore. Then dont fucking start shooting your mouth off in the first place about something you dont want to talk about. Grow the fuck up and go have some fun. Actually, dont, because I dont want to put up with people like that in my sport.
